Red and Turquoise Fjord Medium Ottoman/Footstool by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso
70cm x 55cm x 35cm
Perfection in a shell fragment
From a fragment of shell, broken, smoothed by the waves, Patricia Urquiola designs a collection of seats designed for the home and public spaces. The Scandinavian influence, evoked by the name itself, is in the reference to Arne Jacobsen and in the presence of an elongated cut, a metaphor for the inlets of the Nordic coasts. As in a natural cycle, the body of the armchair, regenerated by time and water, becomes an armchair and then a stool again. The broken shape, from an abstract concept, is transformed into a design object: soft lines that support and welcome, highlighted by the accuracy of the visible stitching in continuous harmony with the essentiality of the structure.
